New Zealand men’s pair Hamish Bond and Eric Murray smashed the world’s best time, previously held by Matthew Pinsent and James Cracknell on the first day of Rowing at London 2012.

New Zealand men’s pair Eric Murray and Hamish Bond achieved a new world best of 6:08.50 to win heat 1 on Day 1 of the London 2012 Olympic Games at Eton Dorney on 28 July.
Murray and Bond won their heat to qualify for the semi-finals with a victory in 6:08.50.
That time was almost six seconds quicker than the mark Pinsent and Cracknell set at the 2002 World Championships in Seville, Spain.
The pair are unbeaten since teaming up in 2009.
