Glasgow Helicopter Crashes Into Pub

Police have warned that the number of people killed when a police helicopter crashed into a busy Glasgow pub will rise in the “coming hours” after confirming one death.

The Chief Constable of Scotland Police said they were now dealing with a “search and recovery operation” after rescue teams worked through the night to try and pull people from the wreckage of The Clutha Vaults pub.

But he said they were still hoping to find survivors alive in the remains of the building.

UK Government Scraps The Paper Car Tax Disc After More Than 90 Years

Vehicle tax was introduced in the 1888 Budget and the system of excise duty applying specifically to motor vehicles was introduced with the Roads Act 1920, with the tax disc appearing the following year.

Almost a century after its introduction, in 1921, the UK government is set to scrap the paper car disc and go all in with its electronic register.

June 21, 2013 – The Ministry of Defence closed its UFO desk because it served “no defence purpose” and was taking staff away from “more valuable defence-related activities”, newly released files show.

The desk was closed in December 2009 despite a surge in reported sightings.The disclosure came in National Archives files relating to reports of UFOs – Unidentified Flying Objects – between 2007 and November 2009.
