Fatal Collision in Barnsley Sparks Multiple Murder Arrests
Tragedy struck Barnsley when a 45-year-old man lost his life in a collision involving a Volkswagen Touareg and a pedestrian on Rose Tree Avenue. The incident unfolded around 4:55 pm on Friday, triggering a swift police response after the ambulance service reported the crash.

Four Arrested on Suspicion of Murder
South Yorkshire Police confirmed the man died instantly at the scene. Authorities immediately informed his family and are providing them with support during this devastating time.
Initial arrests included a 60-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, both taken into custody Friday on suspicion of murder. The following day, police detained a 17-year-old boy and a 33-year-old man under the same charge. All four remain in custody as the investigation unfolds.

Detective Chief Inspector Simon Cartwright emphasized that the inquiry remains in its early stages. “Our deepest sympathies are with the victim’s family, friends, and loved ones,” he said. “Officers will continue their work on Rose Tree Avenue to gather further evidence.”
