Tragic River Crash Claims Teenage Girl’s Life in Wisbech
A harrowing accident unfolded in Cambridgeshire when a car carrying five teenagers veered off North Brink in Wisbech St Mary’s and plunged into the River Nene around 8:20 pm on Tuesday.

Fatal Recovery and Ongoing Search
Rescue teams worked tirelessly into Wednesday afternoon, when specialist divers recovered the body of a teenage girl from the river. Authorities confirmed the victims were between 16 and 18 years old, including two males and three females.
Cambridgeshire Police continue an urgent search for a missing male passenger who has yet to be located following the crash.
Survivors and Hospitalization
Two females and one male escaped the submerged vehicle and were rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn. Their injuries are serious but not life-threatening.
Road Closure and Police Investigation
The southbound lane on North Brink remains closed indefinitely as investigators process the scene. Emergency personnel, including forensic teams, maintained a significant presence along the riverbank on Wednesday, highlighted by a white forensic tent and multiple emergency vehicles lining the road.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
Authorities are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or who may have dashcam footage to contact them immediately to assist in the investigation.
