Loophole Allows Diesel and Jet Fuel from Russian Crude
The UK government has eased its restrictions on Russian oil imports, permitting diesel and jet fuel derived from Russian crude to enter the country, provided these fuels are refined outside Russia. This move dilutes the original sanctions intended to cut off Russian energy revenues amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.

By allowing refined products processed in third countries, the UK effectively creates a pathway for Russian crude oil to reach its markets indirectly. This adjustment reflects the challenges the government faces in balancing energy security, economic interests, and political pressure.
