Kent authorities have charged five males, including three minors aged 16 or under, in connection with the rape of a teenage girl in Gravesend. The harrowing incident reportedly occurred between March 25 and April 19.
Details of the Accused and Arrests
Among those charged, four are Romanian nationals, while one 16-year-old is British. Kent Police launched an investigation after receiving the initial report, swiftly arresting two adult men and three boys linked to the case.
Ionut Dobre, 33, residing on Cleanthus Road, Woolwich, faces rape charges along with two 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old, all from Gravesend. On the same day, Benone Inofte, 46, of Salisbury Road, Gravesend, was charged with aiding and abetting the rape.
Court Proceedings and Custody Status
All five defendants appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday. Their next court appearance is scheduled for May 22 at Woolwich Crown Court.
Both adult men have been remanded in custody. Among the juveniles, two were placed in youth detention centers, while the third was released under the supervision of local authorities.
