A chilling murder inquiry has erupted in Glasgow after an 82-year-old woman was found fatally injured in the Carntyne district. Police Scotland has launched an urgent manhunt for a “dangerous” missing individual last spotted near the crime scene.
Tragic Death of Pensioner Elizabeth Colligan
Elizabeth Colligan was discovered with serious injuries on Cardowan Road around 4 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Despite rapid emergency response, she was declared dead at the scene.

Detective Inspector Gordon Walker expressed deep sympathy for Elizabeth’s family, emphasizing the police commitment to support them through this harrowing time. “Our investigation is advancing along a promising lead as we strive to uncover the full circumstances surrounding this tragic event,” he stated.
Authorities are conducting door-to-door inquiries within the local neighborhood and meticulously reviewing CCTV footage to piece together the timeline and identify witnesses. DI Walker urged anyone who witnessed or heard anything near 4 a.m. on the day of the incident to come forward immediately.
Manhunt for Grant McKinnon Intensifies
Police have identified Grant McKinnon, 30, as a person of interest connected to the case. McKinnon was last seen in the Cardowan Road area at the critical time of the incident and is officially deemed “dangerous.”

Law enforcement strongly warns the public not to approach him under any circumstances but to contact police without delay if they have any information on his whereabouts.
