A 30-year-old man faces charges following the tragic death of Elizabeth Colligan, an 82-year-old woman discovered injured on Cardowan Road, Glasgow, in the early hours of Saturday.
Tragic Incident on Cardowan Road
At approximately 4:20 a.m., emergency responders rushed to Cardowan Road after reports of an injured woman. Despite swift medical attention, Ms. Colligan was pronounced dead at the scene, marking a devastating loss for the local community.
Operation Duomo and Arrest
Police Scotland immediately launched Operation Duomo to investigate this fatal incident. Their efforts led to the arrest of a 30-year-old man on Tuesday, who has now been formally charged in connection with Ms. Colligan’s death.

The accused is scheduled to appear before Glasgow Sheriff Court later today. Authorities continue to pursue all lines of inquiry as the investigation remains active.
