Green Party leader Zack Polanski has sparked fierce backlash after demanding that US President Donald Trump be stripped of ownership of his Scottish golf resorts due to his contentious international actions.
Calls to Sanction Trump’s Scottish Golf Properties
Trump owns two prominent golf courses in Scotland: Trump Turnberry in South Ayrshire and Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeenshire. Polanski urged the UK government to take decisive action by imposing sanctions that would force Trump out of these estates.
Speaking at a press conference in Glasgow alongside Scottish Greens co-leaders Ross Greer and Gillian Mackay, Polanski declared, “I would like to see Donald Trump kicked out of his golf courses.”
Polanski Questions Trump’s Standing in Scotland
He challenged the public sentiment, asking, “Are Scottish people happy with him being able to enjoy the privileges and joys of having a golf course?” Polanski criticized Trump’s self-professed affection for Scotland, contrasting it with what he perceives as widespread Scottish disapproval.
“I imagine that most people in Scotland, and around the UK, recognize that Donald Trump is an unhinged man,” Polanski asserted. “He’s dangerous, he’s unpredictable, he’s putting our country – both England and Wales and Scotland – in a more dangerous place.”

International Tensions Fuel Call for Sanctions
Polanski’s demand comes amid escalating tensions following US and Israeli military actions in Iran. The offensive prompted Iran to effectively close the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial global oil passageway, which sent energy prices soaring worldwide.
“With all that going on, it seems absurd to me that we aren’t talking about sanctions on Donald Trump,” Polanski emphasized, highlighting the urgency of holding Trump accountable on the international stage.
Trump International Scotland Responds with Strong Rebuttal
Sarah Malone, executive vice president of Trump International Scotland, delivered a sharp rebuke. She labeled Polanski’s remarks as “frankly ludicrous and ignorant,” dismissing his calls as the words of “an imbecile.”
