A harrowing murder case unfolds as a second suspect faces court over the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Jordan Gray, a young father whose life was tragically cut short in his own home.
Fatal Shooting Shakes Motherwell Community
On the evening of December 14, 2025, Jordan Gray suffered deadly gunshot wounds inside his residence at Shields Court, Motherwell. His lifeless body was discovered the next day, sparking a major police investigation.

Second Suspect Nathan Gordon Appears in Court
Nathan Gordon, 30, a local from Motherwell, was initially arrested on March 12 in connection with the shooting but later released pending further inquiries. Following the execution of a warrant on Tuesday, Gordon was re-arrested and appeared before Hamilton Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
Gordon faced a single charge of murder but made no plea. The court remanded him in custody, scheduling his next appearance within eight days.
Co-accused Robert Clark Also Charged
Earlier, 58-year-old Robert Clark appeared at the same court, charged with murder and carrying a firearm in a public place. Like Gordon, he declined to enter a plea and remains in custody.
Operation Arvia: The Police Scotland Investigation
The investigation, known as Operation Arvia, has mobilized significant resources. Police Scotland, supported by Crimestoppers, offered a reward of up to £20,000 for information leading to the resolution of this case.
Family Mourns Devastating Loss
At a police news conference in January, Jordan Gray’s mother, Lynn Gray, and stepfather, Michael Groome, expressed profound grief over the loss.

Mr. Groome poignantly stated, “Jordan’s baby will have to grow up without knowing how much his dad loved him,” underscoring the deep personal tragedy behind the headlines.
