Tragic Stabbing Claims Life of Elderly Woman in Plumstead
In a harrowing incident early Tuesday morning, a woman in her 80s lost her life after being stabbed in Red Lion Place, Plumstead, southeast London. The brutal attack unfolded just before 9 a.m., shaking the local community.

Police swiftly responded to reports of a man wielding a knife at 8:50 a.m. Upon arrival, emergency crews discovered the elderly woman with severe injuries. She was rushed to the hospital but tragically succumbed to her wounds.
Another man was threatened during the incident but escaped unharmed, according to the Metropolitan Police.
At 9:10 a.m., a man in his 60s voluntarily arrived at a police station and was promptly arrested on suspicion of murder. Officers took him to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries sustained during the arrest.

Authorities believe the suspect and the victim were known to each other, and no additional suspects are being sought. Detective Inspector Dean Grice, leading the investigation, described the event as “a deeply tragic incident” and extended condolences to the victim’s family.
