The Scoop is an outdoor amphitheatre located right next to the uber-futuristic City Hall. In the summer months there are film screenings, plays and live music, while in the winter it has been known to transform into an ice skating rink, complete with freezing temperatures. The amphitheatre has a capacity of 800, however popular events do fill up. Also, this being England, there is always the possibility of bad weather and the decision to cancel an event is made half an hour before the performance is due to start. At least events are always free.
