Edmonton Green Shopping Centre

Edmonton Green is a community shopping hub that has been transformed by St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, who acquired the Centre from the London Borough of Enfield in 1999. The site totals 26.6 acres and the original shopping centre was constructed in the early 1970s. The Centre currently comprises approximately 450,000 sq ft consisting of 120 retail and restaurant units, 40 market stalls, 750 residential units, hotel, community uses and offices.

Having entered into a partnership with Enfield Council, St. Modwen has invested over £100m in Edmonton Green. Elements of this regeneration include a new bus station, Primary Care Centre and Leisure Centre alongside 176 residential apartments. An ASDA superstore was added in 2008 since when many other high street names have opened along with a new 73 bedroom Travelodge hotel. Significant improvements have also been carried out to services including new public toilets, shop mobility service, security office and CCTV system.

An additional £1.5m investment saw the improvement of the physical environment of the South Mall, home to many community facilities, including the Post Office, Library and banks. Work completed at the end of 2013 on the refurbishment of North Square, which included the reconfiguration of units and extension to accommodate a new 22,000 sq ft Wilkinson store along with significant improvements to the elevations of all buildings, landscaping, street furniture and lighting. These works represented an additional £3m investment by St. Modwen.
