Three suspects have been apprehended following a deliberate arson attack targeting Jewish volunteer ambulances in Golders Green, intensifying the ongoing investigation into this alarming hate crime.
The Metropolitan Police detained a 20-year-old man, a 19-year-old man, and a 17-year-old boy during early morning raids at separate addresses across East London. Each location is currently subject to thorough police searches.
The two adult suspects hold British nationality, while the teenager possesses dual British and Pakistani citizenship. All three face charges of conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger life and remain in police custody pending further inquiry.
Counter Terrorism Police Lead Investigation
This breakthrough follows the launch of a Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) probe after four ambulances operated by Hatzola—a volunteer emergency service serving the Jewish community in Golders Green—were set ablaze on 23 March in a targeted attack.
Earlier arrests on 25 March involved two men who have since been released on bail as investigations continue to unravel the full scope of the conspiracy.

Commander Helen Flanagan, head of CTP, emphasized relentless efforts to bring perpetrators to justice: “Since this appalling attack, our teams have worked tirelessly to identify those responsible. Sir Keir Starmer urged all communities to unite in confronting this “horrific antisemitic attack.” Meanwhile, Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis condemned the assault on the volunteer ambulance service as “particularly sickening,” underscoring the gravity of targeting lifesaving community resources.
