William, Kate, and Their Children Make First Royal Easter Appearance Since Cancer Diagnosis
Prince William, Princess Kate, and their three children marked a poignant return to the Royal Family’s traditional Easter Matins service at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. This was their first attendance since Kate’s recent cancer diagnosis.

Royal Family Gathers at Historic Windsor Chapel
The Prince and Princess of Wales arrived alongside their children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—to join King Charles III, Queen Camilla, and other senior royals for the solemn Easter service on Sunday morning.
As they entered the chapel grounds, William acknowledged the enthusiastic crowd gathered outside with a warm wave. Charlotte looked elegant in a tan coat, while Kate wore an understated off-white skirt and jacket ensemble paired with a leafy hat. William and his sons sported dark blue suits and ties, projecting a unified and polished royal image.

Queen Camilla stood out in a striking red wool dress and coat designed by Fiona Clare, complemented by a Phillip Treacy hat and a treasured brooch that once belonged to the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Significance of the Wales Family’s Attendance
This marked the Wales family’s first Easter service appearance since 2023. The previous year, William and Kate chose to spend Easter privately with their children in Norfolk. This year’s service came just over a week after Kate courageously shared an emotional video announcing the start of her preventative chemotherapy treatment.

Royal Procession and Notable Absences
King Charles III and Queen Camilla arrived by car to enthusiastic cheers of “God save the King” from the assembled crowd. However, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, daughters of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, were absent after receiving the King’s permission to make alternative plans for the holiday.
Last Easter, the former Duke of York and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson joined the royal congregation at the historic 15th-century chapel. Since then, Andrew lost his princely title and dukedom due to his controversial association with convicted paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Andrew was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office, charges he denies. Meanwhile, Beatrice and Eugenie, who retain their princess titles as the King’s nieces, participated in the Royal Family’s Christmas celebrations at Sandringham last December and are expected to join future family events.
Additional Royal Attendees at Windsor
The Princess Royal attended the service with her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence. The Duke of Edinburgh was also present, notably without his wife, the Duchess of Edinburgh.
