Reports that Justin Timberlake is working on ‘some crazy, crazy stuff’ for a new album have sent the Twittersphere giddy with excitement.

Sadly, it seems the rumours aren’t true.

The story was sparked when US producer Jim Beanz (left) referred to ‘the Justin Timberlake project’ in an interview with Digital Spy. Beanz, who has worked on tracks for the likes of Rihanna, Britney Spears and Gwen Stefani, added: ‘It’s still in the early stages, but they have a lot of tracks. While I’ve been over here in the UK they’ve been working, so by the time I get back they’ll have a whole load of ideas and I’m going to have to catch up!’

However, a representative for JT flatly denied the claims. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the publicist admitted that Timberlake is working with Timbaland on tracks for the latter’s Shock Value 3 album but ‘that’s it’.

So no new Timberlake album then, despite his last full-length release, FutureSex/LoveSounds, being released almost six years ago.

The fact the ‘news’ caused so much excitement is telling though. Quite simply, JT needs to get his act together and put out a new album.
