Brutal Killing Shocks North London Community
Nancy Pexton, 70, has been convicted of fatally stabbing her sister, Jennifer Abbott, 69, in a harrowing attack at the victim’s Camden flat on June 10, 2025. The deadly assault ended with Pexton fleeing the scene carrying Ms. Abbott’s priceless diamond-encrusted gold Rolex—a cherished gift from her son.
The Shocking Crime Unfolded Over Days
Ms. Abbott was found three days after the attack, with gaffer tape silencing her and multiple stab wounds marking her body. A worried neighbor broke down the flat door, responding to the incessant barking of Ms. Abbott’s corgi. Emergency responders discovered a deep slash across her neck and numerous defensive wounds.

Timeline Reveals Cold, Calculated Murder
Doorbell camera footage captured Ms. Abbott returning from a morning walk with her dog at 7:36 a.m. On the same day, Pexton spoke to her sister on the phone at 11:36 a.m., then arrived at the flat at 12:45 p.m., leaving an hour later—her clothes drenched in blood from top to bottom.
Following the incident, Pexton called her GP claiming she had overdosed and was hospitalized. Police arrested her at the hospital on June 18. The Rolex, never removed by Ms. Abbott and a symbol of familial love, was found in Pexton’s possession.

Dark Warnings and Threats Preceded the Murder
Prosecutors revealed chilling evidence from Pexton’s phone, including notes and messages where she expressed premeditated intentions to kill her sister. Months before the attack, Pexton ominously warned Ms. Abbott, “You know I was planning to kill you but it was just a thought, I would never hurt you,” while simultaneously cautioning her to “watch your back.”
Ms. Abbott confided in her nephew, fearing her sister was “capable of anything” and contemplated seeking a restraining order amid escalating hostility.
Family Tensions Explode Into Violence
Brad Carlson, Ms. Abbott’s son, testified about the bitter resentment brewing between the sisters. “There was interaction and sometimes anger and hostility between my mother and Nancy, there was resentment seemingly bubbling up,” he said via videolink.
Denials Clash With Overwhelming Evidence
Despite the overwhelming proof, Pexton denied all charges. She claimed her bloodied clothes came from hugging her sister during a nosebleed and insisted she had no memory of the critical 90 minutes inside the flat. She described her incriminating phone notes as mere “venting” and professed love for her sister.
The defendant avoided giving evidence in court and declined to explain the bloodstains or her actions that day. Jurors also learned she had asked a daughter to dispose of or wash her blood-soaked garments.
Justice Awaits as Sentencing Looms
Nancy Pexton faces sentencing at the Old Bailey on May 1. The court’s verdict sends a powerful message about the devastating consequences of familial betrayal and premeditated violence.
