Footage from a dashboard camera shows a volunteer fire chief dragging the unresponsive driver from his car following a collision.

Dramatic dashcam footage has emerged of a volunteer fire chief pulling an unconscious motorist from a burning car in Pennsylvania.

Nate Tracey, who works for the Goodwill Fire Company, is seen running to the man’s aid and dragging him away from the vehicle, which was engulfed in flames.

The front of the victim’s car was crumpled after smashing into a utility pole on the side of the road.

Within moments, other emergency crews began to arrive, including a fire engine to douse the flames.

Local police have identified the motorist as Greg Fabie, and he is reported to be recovering well in hospital following Monday’s incident.

“I leaned in and just pulled him out,” Tracey said. “That’s the standard fire service drag … The adrenaline certainly helped.”

The rescue occurred after the victim’s car crashed into a utility pole on the side of the road.

Seconds later, fire engines and emergency teams arrive to fight the flames.

The passed out driver was identified as Greg Fabie by local police, and is reportedly recovering well in hospital following the incident, which took place on Monday.
