British Astronaut To Speak Of Upcoming Mission
Tim Peake heads to the International Space Station in December and wants to share his experience with scientists of the future.
The first British astronaut of the European Space Agency is hosting a news conference about his upcoming journey to the International Space Station.
Tim Peake is preparing to travel to the space station on 15 December as part of the Principia mission, named after Isaac Newton’s theory Naturalis Principia Mathematica, which explains the principal laws of motion and gravity.
He will travel with NASA astronaut Tim Kopra and Russian cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko and will perform more than 30 scientific experiments during his six-month stay.
The 43-year-old father-of-two will speak to journalists for an hour from 12.30pm on 23 September in a video news conference to be live streamed on NASA TV
Mr Peake, who is keenly interested in promoting science and engineering careers to children, will be at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, during the news conference.
