Situated at the rear of our New Bond Street flagship store, the museum displays examples of our rich and varied archive which dates back to 1887 – such as founder Frank Smythson’s original trade card, a selection of wartime Christmas cards, Sigmund Freud’s calling card and examples of fine stationery specially produced for the Maharajas of India during the 1920s.
Mini Smythson Museums can also be found in our New York and Los Angeles stores, where treasures such as Hollywood starlet Claudette Colbert’s calling card and Katherine Hepburn’s specially commissioned ‘London California New York’ engraved address book can be found, used during the 1950s to record details of friends including Sir Laurence Olivier, Vivien Leigh, Tony Curtis and Frank Sinatra…
